A December to Remember

Ok, so I haven't posted an entry since December 18th and it was about an event on December 14th. Oh well. We have been busy having fun. Rather than making about 20 separate posts I thought I would just give my few readers a rundown of our December events for 2008, some of which I have already blogged about and posted pictures:
Christmas on the Town Green (4th)
Jerusalem with cousins (5th)
Beauty and the Beast (6th)
Tax Seminar (not really a highlight on the 11th)
A few church league bball games
Katrina's Praise Kids concert at church (14th)
Decorating Christmas coookies with the cousins (15th)

Dason's Christmas Program at school (16th)

Leo's 34th Birthday Celebration with family (17th)
We had a Brazilian dinner with beans, rice, steak, viniagrette, cake, etc. It was yummy and a lot of fun I think for Leo. His big gifts were: tire leveler for the trailer and a tool box.

Party kids! With so many kids, it has to be fun!

Katrina's school Christmas program (18th) The theme was SOCCER (don't ask)

Katrina's class party (19th):
Here is a picture of Rachel Dyer enjoying a cracker at the party.

Making Peppermint Bark with Katrina to hand out to the neighbors while we sang Christmas carols as a family (19th)

Some last minute Christmas sewing (ongoing). I made pirate vests for Dason, Caden & Kylin since they always like to use Katrina's when they are here. I also altered some snow gloves for Kelly and some other random projects.

Gingerbread house making and bonding with Journey girls (20th)

DeVries family Christmas (21st) at Brett and Kelly's house

Grandpa and Grandma gave Katrina rollerblades and a barbie townhouse. She was very excited and is getting pretty good on her blades already.

Leo got some new Tevas since the last ones we got were for our honeymoon, 9 1/2 years ago, and they were broken.

We got Kylin a cute little bunny house that we think she will enjoy.

Leyna got a big girl bike from Grandpa and Grandma and she has already figured it out at
age 2 1/2...she was ready after watching Katrina and our neighbors all of the time.

Sing Christmas carols at the convalescent home with cousins (23rd am)
Christmas service at Grandpa and Grandma's church (23rd pm)
Christmas Eve...the girls were excited to get matching pjs this year

Christmas day...we had plans to go to Reno early after Christmas breakfast and we were all loaded in the car and decided to call the road conditions one last time and the 80 was closed. So we went in the house for a few hours and called again and it was still closed. After they opened it they advised travellers (us) to stay home if possible because of blizzard conditions. So we had a quiet family Christmas with just the four of us. Thankfully, I had a yummy Dinner Diva Dos meal in the freezer (Ham and Scalloped Potatoes) so I defrosted that for dinner and the kids got to enjoy their toys. We also made some hot cocoa and popcorn and drove around to look at some more lights. Fun times! I made the girls fleece blankets and they love them! I'm excited.

Everytime we go to this one toy store, Katrina asks for this "floam" stuff...so it was in their stockings and they were excited.

We got Katrina this cool magnifier thing so she can trace pictures and she loves it. She says it is her fave present since now she looks like an artist.

Christmas light viewing (a lot...but these specific pics were taken Christmas night)

I guess you can tell that Katrina loves her new blanket that I made. She uses it all the time. Hers is pink and purple and Leyna's is red and pink.

Trip to Reno (26th-28th)

At least three of us are happy to be taking a family picture.

We went to Claim Jumper in Reno with Oma and it was yummy! A treat for us since we don't have that restaurant near us.

New Year's Eve Celebration (31st - 8:00pm with kids)

Katrina wanted to take a picture of us...she is improving.

Whew that was quite the post there! Looks like you guys had an awesome & fun Dec!
I am so happy that you are sewing again, you were always good at it... remember you even helped me do that hand stitching on a lapel, b/c I could not get it to save my life (or my grade ;)).
