Good Samaritan
Katrina was awarded the "Good Samaritan" award in chapel last week for the first quarter for "thoughtfulness and consideration of fellow students." She was super excited. Now if only this thoughtfulness and consideration of others would consistently carry over to her home life. :) We are still working on that, but aren't we all. When the principal was about to call her name, he said that they need to add a new rule to the handbook in that only kids with names that are easy to pronounce will be admitted to the school. So, he just called her by her first name and asked her to pronounce her last name. He asked her to say it at least three times and he never really did get the correct pronunciation. Oh well...at least we are unique. :) There was a "good samaritan" awarded in each class and those kids earned a "free dress" day along with a pizza party with the principal. Katrina is excited to wear a super pretty dress, but isn't so sure about eating pizza with other kids she doesn't know and the principal. In the beginning of school, she called him "The Man" and she was scared of him. He is really nice and gentle, but I think he still makes her a bit nervous. Plus, she has never been a big eater so hopefully they only order a bite for her instead of a whole slice.

Congratulations Katrina. That is so awesome!! Yes, if only that kind of behavior that every one raves about could come into our homes to stay all the time. Well, I guess everyone needs a safe place to melt down. Might as well be at home.
