A Visit to Reno

We went to Reno over Memorial Day weekend to visit with Leo's side of the family. It had been awhile since we had all been together (November) so I was anxious to see how big Ian was getting (he is the youngest cousin for our girls and he is almost 9 months old now). We spent time with Jonas and Danya and there three kids: twins Eli and Ava and baby Ian. On Saturday we went to a play place and the kids had a great time getting all of their energy out. Katrina even scaled the wall in her princess/rescue hero costume. We missed the twins birthday so we brought up some scooters for their gifts and they seemed to enjoy them. Sunday we spent the day with Nina and went to an all-you-can-eat brunch at a casino. It was yummy and I definitely ate more than I should have eaten. Then we walked over to Circus Circus (it seems like all of the casinos are connected somehow) and saw a show. They had a neat juggling show when we were there. Katrina and Leo entered into a race where they had to shoot the water gun at a target and make their dog reach the top. Well they won! Katrina got a cute little dog and immediately Leyna wanted to play, too. Leo tried again with Leyna's "help" and they were unsuccessful. He tried one more time alone and won another dog for Leyna. What a good dad! He is awesome at those games as he won a Strawberry Shortcake doll for Katrina a long time ago doing the same thing. It must be a hidden talent of his along with those games at Chuck E. Cheese or Scandia where you hit the button when the light is in between the markers and win hundreds of tickets. I can't tell you how many times he has done that successfully! But Katrina always loves it when ALL of those tickets come out.

Anyway, we stopped at the new Cabela's on the way home from Reno and it was a real treat. It is huge and it is almost like going to a zoo. They have sooo many "stuffed" (not the plush kind but I can't think of the word right now) animals in there that definitely look real that it was an educational/entertaining experience for the kids. Leo and I will have to go back and spend some more time in there when the kids are not tired, hungry, cranky, etc. :)

You have a beautiful family, is it four kids? I'll have to show Dan your blog, I saw it through Sara Garates.

Wait, I get it now, a family of 4, not 4 kids, just 2. Got it.

Sounds like Leo has Jedi reflexes... Have you ever seen jars of peanut butter float from the kitchen into the living room on their own?
