Happy Birthday Leyna...Our Big Two Year Old

Happy Birthday to Leyna! Leyna turned two yesterday and we had a little family party tonight with the DeVries fam. We let the kids top their individual pizzas and then Leo BBQ'd them. Katrina insisted that we had at least one game and she chose "pin the tail on the donkey". Leyna got a new scooter from Grandpa and Grandma so all the kids rode after cupcakes. It makes me really happy that we live in a great court so that the kids can ride and play on the street without too many cars coming in. Kelly even found a cute little basket to attach to the front. Katrina wanted to buy Leyna a watering can like hers so they can each have one to water the flowers and a notebook so she can have her own sticker book to save stickers in. These have been two areas causing argument so I thought it was a very thoughtful present.

As far as potty training goes, Leyna did great the first week and then regressed a little. We got busy after that with different activities and travel so I didn't trust her (which was my fault) and I just put her in a pull-up when we were out. Her new line became, "just a little xi-xi" or "just a little poop". So last week Katrina was super sick with a really high fever for 5 days so we didn't leave the house much and Leyna is back on track. The first pic is some evidence. She still has accidents here and there, but not as often. One funny thing about the last picture is that we got the kids all lined up and Leyna would not get on the scooter. I asked her to get on the scooter and she still didn't; she just stood next to it. So I proceeded to ask her what she was doing and she said, "I'm pooping." So I whisked her to the bathroom and she said, "Oh, Leyna"...which is what I say all the time I guess when she has an accident or colors on something she shouldn't or spills something.
