We went camping up at MacKerricher State Park for three nights over Father's Day weekend. It is up just north of Fort Bragg right near the ocean. We left on Thursday and came back on Sunday. Note to self: when planning a fun Father's Day weekend, do not return on Sunday (Father's Day) because that is the day that we have to pack up and then unpack when we get home. Too much work for Leo on his special day. :) It was very beautiful up there and the kids had a great time. My parents even joined us on Friday night and stayed through Sunday as well. It was a wee bit colder than we were expecting and we could even see the fog like it was a very heavy dew or almost rain. Our activities included:
walking to the beach and checking out the tide pools
the girls riding their bike/scooter with some of the other camping kids around the loop
fishing
flying a kite
napping
yummy smore packets (my friend Michelle taught us a new way to make smores and they are really good. Take a piece of aluminum foil and two grahm crackers...regular or cinnamon...spread peanut butter on one side and put chocolate on the other...put roasted marshmallow(s) inside and wrap up and put on fire grate for melting...yummmmy!)
a car show in Fort Bragg because it was just too cold to sit at the campsite or go to the beach
boiling water until Grandpa and Grandma got there with fresh water from home since there was a leak in the water main and the drinkable water was not drinkable while we were there...we couldn't even brush our teeth in it...it felt like we were in Mexico or something
coloring and playing games
eating too much
We do love our little tent trailer and took a picture of it open this time for some of you to see what it looks like all opened up. Even though the weather wasn't the greatest, we still had a great time and the girls were so happy that Grandpa and Grandma joined us. It is always nice to get away and enjoy God's creation.

Hi Kim! This is Sara (scheffer), your former b-ball teammate. I was telling your sister-in-law Kelly that I saw your blog and telling her how cute your girls are. Seriously, they are adorable. I think your youngest looks just like you! I'm so glad to hear she's doing better, it's so hard when our babies get sick. It's been fun checking your blog! Take care!
