We just spent a wonderful week vacationing at Silverlake with the Robert Family. It was truly a vacation and we didn't want to come home. That is kind of hard to imagine since there were no showers and the toilets were pit toilets, but we really almost stayed an extra night. Katrina was convinced the first two days that we were there that she was going to fall in, but thankfully, she got over that fear. We stayed for five nights...our longest camping trip to date...and had a blast. What is not to love about Silverlake? (Well, the yellow jackets and the bathroom situation, but other than that it is awesome!) We spent the day on the beach one day and the kids went in the canoes, hiked to the "Potholes" and swam there, played in the river, caught crawdads, (I didn't do all these things, but someone in our family did), went fishing and Leo caught two trout that were yummy, sat around and read, ate way too much, went on a walk, played games, saw a beautiful sunset, etc. We went to Reno one of the days since it was only 1 1/2 hours away to see Leo's family. On that trip our van hit the 100,000 mile mark. I took pictures of all of us in the van. Leo's brother just got an endless pool so Katrina and Leo had fun trying it out especially since it was almost 100 in Reno that day. Leyna took a nice nap at their house and we even cheated and got a shower that day. I love camping but I do love to be clean! I hope you enjoy the big slideshow of our adventures at Silverlake.
